Line 8 (pink line) takes you straight from Barajas airport to the centre of Madrid. The airport metro station is located in Terminal 2, and there are signs to help you find it throughout the airport. The metro stop in downtown Madrid is called Nuevos Ministerios and is situated in the middle of the Paseo de la Castellana.
The metro station at Nuevos Ministerios provides baggage check-in desks for all flights except Iberia's Madrid-Barcelona shuttle service. Ask the company you are flying with if you can check in at Nuevos Ministerios when you need to.
The journey from Barajas airport to Nuevos Ministerios takes 12 minutes, making it the fastest and handiest way to travel to the centre of Madrid, as well as the cheapest.
From Nuevos Ministerios you can take line 10 (orange line) to Gregorio Marañón. This stop brings you out further down the Paseo de la Castellana, and you simply cross this road to reach Calle María de Molina. If you prefer you can come out at Nuevos Ministerios and take the bus a few stops down the Paseo de la Castellana to Gregorio Marañón. Ask the driver to let you know when you get there.
The no. 89 provides a permanent bus service that goes direct from the airport, from all its terminals, to the centre of Madrid, terminating in the Plaza de Colón. It goes every 10-15 minutes from 04.45h. to 23.00h.
The bus takes the A2/NII road into Madrid, and then Avenida de América. To get to Instituto de Empresa, you have a stop at Calle María de Molina, no. 30. Tell the bus driver that you wish to get off at that address, and he/she will let you know when you arrive. From there you only have to walk down a couple of blocks to IE.
The journey takes some 40 minutes, depending on the amount of traffic entering Madrid.
In order to take a taxi you have to go to the taxi rank by following the signs at the different airport terminals. These are the only reliable taxi services. Ignore any offers of taxis you might receive inside the airport building.
The taxi driver should set the meter going the moment you set off, and it will start at the amount that is the sum of the surcharge for the airport and the corresponding rate for the time of day (06.00h. to 22.00h. - 22.00h. to 06.00h.)
These corresponding surcharges will be displayed on a sticker on the taxi windows. This information also shows a basic map of the different zones on which surcharges are based. If you are going from the airport to the city centre this does not apply to you, given that there is a single surcharge of €4 for taking a taxi from the airport, and you should not pay more for baggage or anything else.

On leaving the airport terminals first follow the signs for P-2 (Car park 2), then recintas feriales (exhibition centre), Madrid-Centro, A Coruña, and Burgos, over a distance of 1 Km. Then turn off to the right toward Zaragoza, Madrid, and Burgos via the N-100. Drive for 1.7 Km., then follow the signs for Avenida de América, Madrid, which will take you into the city.
You will see signs that put: Madrid-Centro, Avenida de América, Calle Corazón de María, Parque de las Avenidas. Keep going straight, following the signs for Avenida de América for a total of 7.5 Km. which will mean you leave the M-30 ring road behind you and you will be heading straight into Madrid. The first traffic light comes up suddenly on the same road as you enter Madrid, and at the second traffic light you will see to your right the entrance to the Avenida de América transport centre, which means you have come to the end of Avenida de América. Keep going straight and you will immediately enter Calle María de Molina. Drive down María de Molina (at the end of which lies the Paseo de la Castellana) for about 750m., until you reach number 13 which is the main Instituto de Empresa Campus. As you are driving down María de Molina. Just before you reach the campus you will see a petrol station on your right, then you will immediately cross a minor junction followed by a major junction, after which you will see IE's distinctive cream-coloured wall.
Most buses coming from the northern outskirts of Madrid and cities in the north of Spain arrive at this station. The fastest route to Instituto de Empresa is the metro. Take line 7, just one stop to Gregorio Marañón, from where all you have to do is cross the Castellana to get to Calle María de Molina. You can also take a city bus, given that several of the buses that stop there will take you down María de Molina. Ask the driver to make sure the bus goes that way. If you don't have luggage, you can also easily walk to IE from here in about ten minutes, just ask someone which street is María de Molina and walk down it.
This is Madrid's largest bus station. It is where many long-distance coaches arrive, coming from Spanish and international cities. The easiest way to get to Instituto de Empresa from here is by metro, to which you have direct access. Take line 6 to Avenida de América, change to line 7 to get to Gregorio Marañón, from where all you have to do is cross the Castellana to get to Calle María de Molina.
This station receives coaches coming mainly from Castilla y León, Extremadura and Levante. The fastest way to get to Instituto de Empresa from here is by metro. Take line 6 to Avenida de América, then take line 7, just one stop to Gregorio Marañón, from where all you have to do is cross the Castellana to get to Calle María de Molina.
Gregorio Marañón is the closest metro station to IE Business School. All you have to do is cross the Castellana to get to Calle María de Molina. Madrid's metro is the fastest and handiest system of transport for getting to the centre of Madrid. There are currently 12 lines that cover most of the city.
